Dr. med. Petra Weissenberger, Head Medical Services

Petra Weissenberger graduated from the Medical Faculty of Würzburg University in Germany in 1991 and finished her doctoral thesis in 1992. Petra’s knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine within and outside clinical trials rests on her practical clinical experience in gynecology, obstetrics, hand and plastic surgery gained at different institutions.

From 1998, Petra directed her career development into clinical research starting at a premier global CRO where she became acquainted with the fundamentals of ICH GCP and clinical trial conduct. She worked in positions of increasingly senior responsibilities from CRA, Clinical Team Leader and Medical Advisor to finally Manager Clinical Operations.

Petra joined PharmaProjekthaus in January 2008 as Project Leader & Medical Advisor and was promoted to Senior Medical Advisor in July 2009 and in October 2011 to Head Medical Services. During her employment she has been the responsible Medical Expert on several pivotal phase III studies in different therapeutic areas providing medical consultancy and hands-on medical services. She likewise has been delivering medical advice for biological license applications and authorization processes. In addition Petra works for global drug safety departments being involved in the preparation of essential safety core documents, signal evaluation, medical coding review, case processing and routine tasks of a drug safety officer during conduct of a clinical trial.

Petra’s responsibility is to further grow the medical services within PharmaProjekthaus with pharmaceutical physicians that have both a good understanding of internal and external customer services as well as a thorough knowledge of clinical research and strong project management skills. She believes that Medical Scientific Services is a segment that is in strong demand and highly valued - provided the services are well performed.
